I know a couple of chapters that have done "long-distance" socials between my school and a neighboring one. However, I think it is becoming increasingly rare due to regulations. Some sororities have rules governing how far away parties or socials can be, etc... (For instance, if alcohol is present it has to be within city limits or sixty miles). So, they have to be kept undercover if they're going on.
