I took the original posts to mean (although they did not state it) they were state laws. Clearly they are not, since there are sorority houses in those states. I didn't say they were the same school. If the dumblaws.com site is correct, that law is certainly not being enforced.

If an RA satisfies the requirement for licensed supervision, there are I believe sorority houses with school-sponsored RAs, and I don't see why Arizona could not have those. After all, many "house moms" aren't members of that org - so having an RA wouldn't be much different.

It's true, I don't have a life. No doubt I'm very sad about that from time to time. But it does give me time to do a lot of reading and research. I just checked out the Pennsylvania code, for example, (www.pacode.com), and could not find any statute relating to that. I looked up a large variety of keywords and could find nothing to that effect. Hey, it beats working.

It is possible that there are county or city laws prohibiting that many women living together (or any variation thereof). Unfortunately, I have just enough of a life not to have the time to look up every county and city in every state to see if somewhere that is on the books.

However, I believe I've done enough research to believe that there is no law anywhere in the US prohibiting sorority houses. If there is evidence to the contrary, I'd be curious to see it, although of course I understand not everyone has the time and or energy to care what I believe. My point is, I have seen no evidence to the contrary, and until I do, I will continue to believe (and publicly assert) there are no such laws.
