Need some advice.
Hi Ladies of Sigma Gamma Rho,
I will be a sophomore in college this upcoming fall and I am a little worried. Since my junior year in high school, I've been doing research on this organization and I have to say I would love to become apart of it. But although I am interested in Sigma Gamma Rho, my freshman year of college that just passed, I made a commitment to focus on grades first and just becoming a better woman and building a relationship with God. This being said the chapter at my school was inactive up until this year and I ended up missing the interest meeting for school related purposes. The grad chapter isn't seen on campus a lot and I don't know any SGRhos to ask about the situation.
I've worked really hard on becoming a better woman with great grades and finding what my mission in life will be, which is to help improve the school system in my hometown so that inner city black students can prosper. I feel that my mission in life corresponds with Sigma Gamma Rho's motto of "Greater Service, Greater Progress". I just would like a little advice on what my next steps should be. I know I should maintain discretion at all times, which I have done. But I also know that Sigma Gamma Rho is a tight knit community so I want to at least be able to become friends with a couple of Sigma Gamma Rhos.
Sincerely,
A patient prospect
