Question Headquarters and Recruitment

I was just wondering...what do other groups international/national headquarters do when groups are having trouble with recruitment? Do they have programs set up for those chapters who find it difficult to get new members? Do they have staff/volunteers to work with the chapters? What sort of ideas are they giving the chapters?

Any information would be very helpful, thanks

shadokat,
Chi Omega sends consultants to tons of chapters every year, during their recruitment to help smooth out the process, polish things up, give some new ideas, etc. Also, we have a national recruitment team that usually goes to the campus the semester before to work on planning and image and what kind of changes need to be made. The kind that can't be made 2 weeks before rush, you know? Both groups do everything from providing new skits, songs and themes to conversation workshops, image workshops and workshops on all the mechanics of rush. The consultants are paid, but the recruitment team are all almunae volunteers.

Hootie,
That's great! Part of the reason I think Chi Omega is so great is that they have lots of consultant, more than twice as many as some GLO's, so all chapters get a lot of attention. Tons of chapters each year get recruitment visits, so ChiO doesn't just help ones that are..."underachieving," chapters who do quite well still get visits to make sure they are as on top of the game as possible. and those songs amaze me! who makes all those up? I am certainly not that talented!

I know that Alpha Phi has Educational Leadership Consultants that travel around the country and help various chapters. Also we have a position on each Regional Team (all our chapters belong to one of 8 regions) that deals specifically with Collegiate Membership Recruitment and strengthening the rushing strength of our chapters.

In terms of what we do it depends on the chapter, what they need, the region of the country they are in etc.

If you are looking for specific suggestions you can email me...coffeemug@home.com
