I'll give the OP the benefit of the doubt that what he meant is there are fewer spaces than rushees in any given chapter and that is critical to remain open minded. This is absolutely true. But your very specific words matter. And if it seems like a bunch of old broads just lost their minds it's because we've been battling this particular nugget of misinformation ever since RFM was instated about, what, 10 years ago?

Virtually every girl who sticks with the program will find a home. But she does have to be willing to accept a sorority other than her initial favorites.

Like my Daddy used to tell me: I only know what you say, not what you mean to say.

I think that what he MEANT to say is that some houses will have 100 legacies to that GLO show up and all of their Moms and Grandmas and sisters are hoping they will want to be a member of that group as well, and if quota overall is 75, then the odds that all 100 (assuming all 100 want to get a bid there) will get that bid are basically non-existent. So then you have to be a realist and you and Mama will need to decide if it's ok for you to be a member of so-and-so instead of your legacy.
That does happen a lot and not just at Ole Miss.
