I've been a bit blah on reading lately. I used to work at a library and always had something in my hands. It also helps when you work with fellow readers and get recommendations or patrons rave about something so you try it. I'm usually pretty dogged when it comes to finishing a book. Can't handle gore.

No, I have a Friend who sends me boxes of books and I have a bunch and read maybe one a week or less.
When I finish them I re box, either pass on to someone who reads like I do, tell them they must pass them along, or take them to local library to sell in book sale and make them some money!!!!
BTW, Sue Grafton Mysteries are easy to read and "gripping" as My Mom used to say!!! Thanks to her, reading was a passion of mine as a kid and had a library card before I went to kindegarten!
