Kappa Question

Hey they, sorry to jump on y'alls board, but I have a Kappa question. My cousin is going through Recruitment this fall at Lafayette College in Easton, Pa and she is interested in Kappa. Do you all take recs or letters from non-kappa members?

Thanks!
Maggie

It is my understanding that a recommendation must come from a Kappa. However, a non-Kappa can put together information (picture, list of accomplishments, etc) that can be useful to a Kappa filling out a rec form. Of course, the best thing would be for the Kappa to meet the PNM as well as getting the info from someone who knows her well.

How big is Lafayette? If it's small, and Recruitment is more laid-back, a rec might not even be necessary. I went to a small school and saw a grand total of two recommendations in my 3 years of formal recruitment. However, even at a small school, a rec couldn't hurt.

You're always welcome on this board (especially since I'm partial to AZD, a very close friend of mine is one)!

I'm sure that writing a "reference" and sending it to the chapter, along with the acknowledgement that you cannot provide an official recommendation. I'm not sure how intense Lafayette's Greek system is, but at the very least it would help. There's a thread about this in the Rush forum.
