Well there's hope yet!
Dunno what to tell you about the whole guy you like turning gay thing. Obviously it's just not meant to be ~ sexuality is a strange thing and although I'd love to say you could change him back...it's probably not likely.
In the meantime be grateful you have such awesome friends and one in particular that you feel especially fond for.
