The more the groups know about you before recruitment even starts, the better.

As for grades, that can depend on the individual GLO and their national and local requirements. I am not actively involved in recruitment at this time, but your grades certainly seem respectable. While grades can be used for early cuts, they are not the only factor in membership selection. Your recs can give a fuller picture of you and what you have to offer a group before the crush of formal recruitment begins.

I hope this helps!

That's my plan I just wasn't aware that some people write letters without the PNM's awareness. lol Thank you so much for all your help! I truly do appreciate it! I guess my one question is in a school where they advertise letters aren't necessary/don't worry about them is there a certain point where all the letters to multiple chapters may come across as "trying to hard?" I'm under the impression they can only help in the long run but I just wanted to be sure!

I'm afraid I can't help you here as I am not at all familiar with your school or even your part of the country. But I am not aware of any situation where letters of recommendtion are a detriment. Hopefully someone who is will chime in!

No worries! Thank you again for all your help!

I'll gladly listen to any advice of those who are familiar with rush in the PNW or those who have any advice from anywhere around the country All of you have been so incredibly helpful so far! Thank you to everyone

No, it shouldn't come across as try hard-ish at all. UW, WSU, OSU, & UO have all seen record recruitment numbers in the last few years and recs are a nice way to get on chapters' radars before you even walk in the door. That being said it is only a good thing if you're coming across in a positive way, so even though you've probably heard this a million times here is one more friendly reminder to make sure your social media is squeaky clean!

Not sure what university you are headed to, but at WSU recommendation letters were uncommon for my chapter to receive. Not sure if it is still the same, I would think so, Washington State is a pretty laid back recruitment. I advised at Oregon State and I don't believe recommendation letters were common for that chapter either. But a rec. letter is a nice introduction, and when we had one we did pay attention to it! =)

I was reading this forum and I thought it sounded a lot like UW! I haven't been able to find any super detailed information on UW's rush. If you were a PNM too that would be amazing!!! Is anybody else on here from UW too???
