Back in the early 90's I attended Morehead State University in Ky. My freshman year I was stuck in a suite on the Delta Gamma floor. I did not go through rush that year. My experience was living w/the DG's was not that great. If you weren't a DG you were not accepted and if you had to be in one of the 5 sororities in order to be accepted. THere was a DZ in the suite next to ours w/3 DG's and one DZ. The DG's got really angry that she did not pledge DG so they made her life miserable. I think it was worse for me since I didn't rush that year. One of the pledge sisters from DG, who I knew from one class, came up to me in the hall one day and asked if I would be moving out so that one of the pledges could stay in my place on the DG floor. Two months later I moved out. I could not take the stress and from just being around the DG's I really disliked greeks especially DELTA GAMMA's! My sophomore year, I lived on an independant floor in the sorority hall. That was a much better experience. I got to meet alot of the girls in the sororities~especially the DZ's and CHI-O's. So when spring rush rolled around I went thru informal and pledged DZ. Not all sororities are alike and towards the end of my sophomore year I met some DG's I became friends with. I guess you can't judge an organization by 3 people like I did. I hope your experience w/the AOPi's is better than mine was. I wish you the best of luck.
