Maybe before next semester's group leaves you could create a packet of letters and little messages from the chapter and give it to them. While they are abroad they can open the letters when they feel homesick or need a little pick me up.
My big created a bunch of cards for me when I was doing my internship and the outside of the cards had times to open them. For example, when it's been a rough day, when you're really excited, when you miss home, . . . .
It helps them to have a connection to the chapter while they are gone and reminds them they are thought of.
