Hee. I giggled at this.
I'm wondering if the Kappa list isn't 1) alphabetically by hometown and then 2) alphabetically by last name within that.

I think you're giving our sisters too much credit. Clearly, they were ranked by GPA.

My vote exactly.

Stopping the rumors
I really thought I was on that retched Greekrank for a minute when I saw the "rumor mill" had started. Can't speak to why it said initiates, but the order is alphabetically by state and alpha. within that state. It only took a minute of facebook creeping to find out the order. As the first five were from AL, next four from AR and so on. So please squash the bid list order rumor that the other sororities and alumni are spreading, trying hard to make KKG look bad or as someone said "drunk" when they posted it.

What a shame that you are unable to discern a joke from a dedicated Kappa alumna volunteer (me) as well as long time GC regular Panhellenic sisters who have no desire to make any sorority look bad (DBB and others). The PR chair screwed up with Initiates, period. She also made an error in ordering the NM's the way she did. If it was alpha by geography, then include the geography. I'm sure the new members themselves were taken aback. From here on out, everything official they do will be ordered alphabetically by pledge class.
Why is it that you're spending time FB creeping anyone? Nice way to invade the privacy of strangers.
Lesson to be learned is that when you're preparing something for publication, don't leave anything open for speculation. I bet the chapter has had conversations about it, and it won't be handled the same way next year.

I thought this was funny, considering how often PNMs are told to clean up their facebook accounts because actives and alums will be viewing and combing through their social media.
Or would that be "creeping" and "invading the privacy of strangers."
Dramatic. lol.

Collegiate women checking out women who have voluntarily signed up for the opportunity to join a sorority is one way to vet women to whom you are considering extending an invitation to join a lifelong sisterhood. Random stranger looking them up to decipher the meaning of a list is creepy, IMO. Your mileage (obviously) does vary.
