Not to sound harsh, being informative. GPA cuts are usually hard and fast, regardless of the reason(s). I don't know of many chapters that will take grade risks. And right now that's what you are. I really want you to focus on your academics this year. Your age is not as huge of an issue as your on-paper GPA.
And please, please - seek support. I've been where you're at. I do understand.
ETA: I like katmandu's suggestion to get to know sorority women, in natural situations.
