Thank y'all for all of you helpful advise you post onto this forum. You are lifesavers for those of us who have daughters going through rush!

My daughter will be rushing at Ole Miss, and has a class that ends at 5:15, yet rush starts at 4:30. Will this hurt her chances?

What part of rush exactly is it?

She should inform her recruitment counselor asap but if possible, skip class

I think that at Ole Miss, if you skip class, you're dropped from recruitment. I'm not 100% sure of this but I think I've read it on here before.

Well, in that case, definitely don't do that then!

Usually groups will have more slots for parties than the actual number of parties the PNMs attend to help with overcrowding. If they are saying you can't skip class to attend an event, I'm sure they have backup plans in case of this situation and should be able to work around it.

At a school like Ole Miss, if parties are happening during normally scheduled class times, there will be a Plan B. Just make sure she communicates her problem as soon as possible. This isn't something to bring up the day before parties begin.

Yes, missing class would cause a PNM to be dropped from Recruitment. She should inform her Rho Chi ASAP, as in as soon as she knows find out the Rho Chis contact information.

I never teach freshmen, only seniors and graduate students ... and occasionally a group of spring semester juniors, so I can't answer the questions about skipping class. But I am always mindful of when recruiting happens because my students have some really long work days (and nights).

They always appreciate that I massage the schedule so that no major assignments are due during recruitment.

They did send out a letter saying that you would be dropped from recruitment. I will make sure she informs her Rio Chi when she gets that info. Thank you for your help!

Found this great sight for game day clothing among others. They have some really cute stuff and a lot of Royal and Red as well.

My husband came home the other day and described these to me. I didn't believe him! A woman was wearing these in court!

I really hope no one would seriously wear those.... every single pair of leggings on that site is hideous. Ranging from plaid to tribal to ugly Christmas sweater.

OK, I would TOTALLY wear all those leggings....

IF I had my college body
With a giant black t-shirt or sweater fully covering my butt
And with flats or black Beatle boots - definitely not heels!!! Skanky!!
In other words, 80s style.

The thing I can't get with is the headbands like "Pink Pewter" girl is wearing. Oh and the flower wreath/tiara things. I thought this was just something the magazines were trying to make happen, but I saw an actual human wearing one last night, so I guess people are biting. Eeek.

Eh, different strokes I guess. I don't mind the 80s style, I would probably even wear neon pink leggings with the black booties and black shirt or something of the like, but I just really hate the crazy patterned leggings.
