To prevent other readers from absorbing your stupidity, here is a reminder that the majority of violence and homicides for all racial and ethnic groups are intraracial. That is based on the racial concentration and segregation of the majority of cities and states. Most people spend most of their time with people of the same race and ethnicity. The same thing happens around the world.

That is why interracial violence and homicides receive such attention. Add to that the history and ongoing racial tension in this country (that leads fools to pretend to be colorblind and say "I don't see race" in order to escape).

1. The issue in this case is the police killing of an unarmed 18 year old. It's not about "intraracial crimes." It's different when there is police power involved. There haven't been riots for white on black crime, either. This mess is directed towards abuse of police power. First by shooting Michael Brown. Secondly by turning dogs on peaceful protestors on the very first day. Even if you believe that Michael Brown had it coming, do you really advocate the use of dogs on protestors?

By trying to change the topic to black-on-black crime, you are avoiding the issue of police abusing their power and the disproportional way that effects blacks in the US.

Thank you for posting this ^^. Churches, frats/sororties, other organizations work continuously in the community to favorably alter the trajectory of young lives. Tutoring, mentoring have been staples of hundreds of effective organizations in any hood you want to look into.

Media usually doesn't cover these because it's not "news." But that doesn't lessen the importance of, or the committment to the work, however.
