R.I.P. Elaine Stritch

I realized there wasn't a thread noting the death of Elaine Stritch last Thursday. She was 89.

I know lots of people will know her mainly from 30 Rock, but in my mind she'll always primarily be the consummate stage performer, the eternal Broadway Baby.

This may be one of her best moments, not least because of how she handles the memory lapses: Elaine Stritch singing Stephen Sondheim's "I'm Still Here" at the White House.

Absolutely, the consumate Broadway Baby. Did you see the CBS Sunday Morning segment on her?

She was a treasure - I loved her performance of "Zip".
