I would include church activities on my resume, if it were me. No one is going to frown about you being a leader/volunteer at your church.

Agreed, especially if you are submitting to an Alumnae Panhellenic.

When I get rec packets from girls that I don't personally know I immediately start working the phones to find that mutual connection. Seeing a church membership saves me about 47 steps. So it is a win/win all around- you get a rec written by someone who knows you and I haven't spent all week trying to find that link.
