Of course it would not be weird. Just so that they know you are not a perp, how about introducing yourself to several of them in advance? Find out if they have a local alumnae group that supports the chapter and go JOIN it! I bet they would love to welcome a young women who might be a good advisor or at least sort of an unofficial "big sister" to the chapter. Then wear those letters with pride
