I only counted something like 32 Tri Delts? That's just shameful.

I think that is the sorority my daughter had as #1. I am hearing they have a very strong legacy policy.

?
Cross cuts, Pnms bidless afer pref round, and snap bids.
Can IU add a party and keep pref to two houses? Would this help the pain?

Kappa Delta at Indiana. I think I count 47, but I am never good at counting in these pictures.

NO...doing three preference parties is much better for the PNMs. It gives them an extra chance to match.
Also, could the person who posted that IU took more women than last year PM me? I would like to know where you got that number. Thank you! Preliminary numbers are rolling in and the majority of chapters took fewer women than last year. Only a handful took more, and they only took a few more.

I agree with you typically at any other school, but at IU there are so many PNMs who do all the things Greek Chat recommends and still end up bidless and that's why we really think something needs to change.

My daughter and I scoured the Greek chat site - she went back and forth over break to make sure her rush outfits were appropriate - she even practiced rush with her Greek friends from home... She missed war,-ups every day with her dance department to allow her possible absence from 21 and 12 to not be a problem. She maximized every round got 9 houses of 12 after 21 first round because of dance conflict sheet and she got 3 into 3 party - she had an open mind - visited with in-housed and housed. In the end she got nothing. Friends suicided and got their suicides- she just wanted a house. As I said before and maybe not a "liked" thing... She wants a house- she wants to live in. She has always wanted it since visiting her cousins at their house and since going on college visits. Maybe that is wrong but that is what she wants. She is bid less and sad but she's registered for informal recruitment which who even knows if that's really a thing. And if not she will hang with her friends that received bids and hope for the best next rush season. It's been a very tough 24hrs especially living 12 hours from IU - but I told her this doesn't define you. It will hopefully make her stronger. She pulled her chin up hugged her roomie who got her first choice when she walked into the room bid shirt and all last night... even though her roomie was still on the fence when filling out the recruitment forms.
Tonight her dance friends took her for dinner and she is collecting herself and figuring out how to move on. I hope by some miracle a house decides they have an opening for her at some point if not now next year because truth be told she will rock as a sister.

The ZTA post suggests that some of the NPC HQs are acknowledging the problem at IU. DeltaBeta Baby also made a good point in that if her group was one of the narrow-minded ones (and I don't believe that it is), then she wanted to send a message to her HQ. Perhaps pressure from HQ to compel living out and offer more spots is a solution (if the archaic bed rush cannot be rendered extinct). Thank you, ChiOLu for offering to broach the issue with NPC. That may help move those groups who, unlike ZTA and AXO and others, have not yet attempted to initiate change.

I think you mean 3rd street, but yes it is. The others are KKG, Pi Phi, and Alpha Phi.

Yes, Silver Blue. I was thinking there might be a correlation, but no. Pi Phi took a large class this year.

DBB's chapter at IU did take fewer members than they did last year. She did say to call it out, so there it is. 50 last year (45 in the bid day photo this year).
AXO did not take any additional members either. They took 50 this year and 50 last year. It is up to them to whom they offer bids, but they did not offer more.
ZTA did take quite a few more than last year. A few of us IU people are working on gathering information, we have two thirds of the chapters so far.

There's usually a correlation there, but I am thrilled that my org took a larger class.
