I laughed out loud when I read today's posts. I HOPE it's not the bid order as the 2 girls I knew were listed at the end! Yikes. Not being alphabetical bothered me too!

I thought it would be obvious that I was only kidding about this. It would make no sense for it to be the order of the bid list. The bid list that a group gets back from the GL office is alphabetized, after all the matching is done.
So, in order to have a list of the NM class in the order of the bid list, that would mean someone had an electronic copy of the bid list as submitted to the GL offfice, then took out all of the women who matched elsewhere, and then submitted the remaining names to the paper.
You'd be weirdly combining information from two different sources: the full, ordered bid list and the alphabetized list of women who matched. There's zero chance that is what happened. It's either random or ordered by some other NM attribute: hometown, PNM number, dorm, etc.

It's just vaguely alphabetized enough to make it look like there's some sense of order, but with no clear reasoning I sure hope it isn't the bid list!

Holy cow: I didn't realize that a college newspaper ad would have people getting their knickers all bunched up. Who has that kind of time? I thought amIblue's initial post about Kappa's bid list was pretty transparent and saw the humor in it and all ensuing posts. Apparently I missed that this is serious business.
Although, truthfully, I am somewhat irritated that Kappa has now become first to automatically initiate their snowflakes. Damn. They are always one-upping everyone. #annoyed

I think it was clear to anyone reading this that the "bid list order" comment was simply a joke.

I seem to remember one year where one of the new member announcements was in alpha order by first name. Can't remember which sorority it was tho'.

Hair color? Eye color? Car(s) they drive? Most expensive vacation? Plastic surgery?
Oh we could really have fun with this.
Back to the topic, enough silliness… sigh. I do love my Kappas, they always have to be doing something unique. It's that key thing, isn't it?

I saw the humor in DBB's and Blue's and others' posts (snowflakes, GED, et al). They made me smile. C'mon over to the veranda humorists, I'll spike up the sweet tea. : )
