Wait, wait, wait…

Walt Disney cheated on his Theta daughters with Zetas?

Inconceivable!

You should ask your chapter sisters or other ZTAs IRL. I have heard from other ZTAs, though, that there are ZTA symbols in The Little Mermaid. It may just be a coincidence, but you should rewatch with some sisters and see what you can pick out. Congrats on your initiation, and remember not to ask people for sorority secrets online!

This has been discussed (without identifying any purported secrets) on GC many times, but here's the thing: the claim always seems to be either that "the writer" or "the animator" was a ZTA who put ZTA symbols or secrets in. Well, according to IMDb, The Little Mermaid had 6 writers (not counting Hans Christian Andersen), and all were men. So that seems to rule out a ZTA writer putting any ZTA secrets in the script.

The movie would have had many animators, most of whom likely would not have had much freedom to add symbols, at least not with the prominence that is often claimed. Those things would have been overseen, I think, by the 16 or so storyboard artists and visual development artists, only 1 of whom per IMDb, Brenda Chapman, was female—and she is a graduate of CalArts, which has no Greek life.

So . . . . Coincidence and urban legend?

Ursula only sent out Hallmark cards. That's how you know ZTA had something to do with it.

Everyone in the NPC knows about The Pit Of Despair.

As to the reason ZTA's wear a Crown during their MAWWIAGE...

It bwings them togevuh. But the Fire Swamp is reserved for AOIIs, amirite? And the ROUSSES are renegade AGDs. Squirrels gone to the dark side, you know. And there's the ADPi Violet Volcano. Don't forget about that.

What else have you guys figured out?
