I went to Elon, in NC and we always knew and made it a point to know our legacies, just out of respect for our sister's who are their relatives. They also usually came with recs too.
Other more "southern" sororities were notorious for taking girls and then they would transfer to "better greek schools"...those girls usually came from the deep south. where as most of our members came from the northeast/midatlantic area.
