Hey, Just wanted to be sure you all know what a great chapter Delta Zeta has at Alfred. I am good friends with many of the girls, and our two groups do a lot of stuff together. They've consistently been one of the top greek organizations in both numbers, grades and service since their founding just about 10 years ago. It is a terribly shameful thing that our Greek system is to be no more. The trustees are allowing us all to exist for one more year, but not to recruit, so that we will die out slowly. I urge you to contact your Headquarters and express to them to take a stand for such a great chapter!
We are a small school, with relatively small greek houses. A lot of us from the nationals on campus are afraid that our small size (and thus small income) will result in little action on our behalf from our nationals. I have asked Lambda Chi Alpha to draft a letter to the school and have each one of the other national fraternities and Delta Zeta HQ's co-sign. I'm afraid no such letter will be seen though. The smallness that makes our chapters so strong may also be the thing that keeps our nationals from giving us the support we so deserve.
