Today we had final parties. I was super-excited, I felt in my heart that I would end up in Batman, I even had a dream about it last night! When I arrived at recruitment, I found out I was invited to all three parties, they were:
1. Spiderman
2. Iron Man
3. Hulk
I was crushed. I thought for sure that I would at least get invited to Batman's final party. My Rho Gamma could tell that I was upset, she took me aside and let me know that everything happens for a reason, and that she can see me being a part of any of these chapters and loving it. She made me feel so much better, so I decided to go on my way.
Spiderman was my first on of the day. Going into recruitment, I really did want to be a part of this chapter. I thought that it would be so fun to be a part of a pioneer charter, and the dues are cheaper for this chapter than for others, which is a plus. However, I just do not click with these girls. I had another awkward conversation with another girl. I don't think that I can accept a bid from this chapter, I don't really see it every feeling like home.
Iron Man was my next party of the day. I had no idea what to expect, but it was amazing! When I was picked up at the door, my member already knew my name without me even having to introduce myself. She was so nice, and we didn't have a lull in the conversation the entire party. A girl that I had hit it off with the night before came over and talked to us as well, we all had a really nice camaraderie going on! Their sisterhood ceremony was so sweet, I started to tear up a bit. All of the members seem to have such a strong support system in their other sisters, and an unbreakable bond. Everything I saw today made me want to join this chapter.
The last party of the day was Hulk. I was really excited to see this chapter again, as they've been a favorite of mine all week! Once again, all of the girls in this chapter were so polite and easy to talk to. I found out a lot more about their sisterhood from the members I talked to, and more in-depth information about their philanthropy events. However, I didn't feel as strong an emotional connection as I had felt with Iron Man during their sisterhood ceremony. That being said, I still see myself being a member of this chapter.
When it came to preference, I felt really conflicted. I had somewhat good but somewhat awkward previous parties with Iron Man, but a completely wonderful time today. After seeing some of the great girls in this chapter as well as their strong sisterhood, I would love to be a member of this sorority. However, I'd been attracted to Hulk ever since recruitment began. Their philanthropy is great, and the girls are so kind. I decided to talk to my Rho Gamma(aka recruitment savior) about it. She told me that when I had come out of the Iron Man party, I had seemed just as excited about it as I had been about Batman, if not more. I'd also always felt comfortable in Hulk. It seems like after today, I really want to be a part of Iron Man, but if I got a bid for Hulk I would not regret joining it. I was able to pref up to all three parties I attended, but I knew that if I received a bid for Spiderman I would not want to accept it. I signed my contract:
1. Iron Man
2. Hulk
3.
Tomorrow morning is bid day, I'm incredibly excited. I feel like I can make a home for myself in either one of these chapters, and I can't wait to find out who my sisters will be! Fingers crossed that I get a bid!
