The next day I received my list of parties for philanthropy parties. The max invites were for 9 parties. No girl in my gamma chi group was invited back to 9. I had 8 parties on my list and felt very lucky. I was cut from Danni and Gemma. I was disappointed, but not surprised. I was more upset that I would have to go back to Maria than being cut from both of these houses, but I was so disappointed in losing Gemma. Again I wasn't surprised. Both of these houses are very competitive, and I didn't have a rec for Gemma... I am very excited to have my top three houses though! Two of my other gamma chi friends were cut from Danni, and two still have Danni. One of my friends was cut from Lauren, and she was devastated.

Sidebar: I thought Arkansas had 9 sororities and 2 colonies? Or am I confusing it with Ole Miss?

Last year they had 2 colonies. Both installed last school year but don't have houses yet.

The Arkansas panhellenic page only lists 10 sororities.

Because there were only 8 before the 2 colonies.
