I clicked this, knowing I haven't watched the season finale and am relieved there are no spoilers. Hope I get a chance to watch it soon!

I laughed at the ending, but I like it!

I enjoyed the finale. Wasn't perfect, but I enjoyed it.

Good news all.....

ERIC IS "ALIVE"!!!!!

He didn't go into a flaming crisp and self combust into a pile of intestines and blood. The showerrunner stated in an interview with TV that Alexander WILL be back next season.

Thank goodness.

Hallelujah!!!

I was thinking that there would be no plot point in Pam having left to go find him, if he wasn't going to survive. My guess is that she's been nursing him back to health in the 6 month interim. (I do not want to see a semi-recuperated Eric next season, like Russell Edgington after being buried in concrete...wait until he looks good to bring him back!)

I was actually disappointed that Eric took off for leisure time in Sweden. I thought he'd left the camp to go help Sookie with Warlow, since he was able to get through to fairy land and drink Warlow's blood. Kind of disappointed that he left her in the lurch instead of helping...but Bill was redeemed instead.

^^^ I wondered why they weren't dead, because the first ones infected just died after a few days. If you ask me, it looks like True Blood is trying to cash in on the current zombie craze.

I finally got to see the finale. For those who read the books, is this true to the books at all?

It sure looked like Eric turned to vampire slime- I'm wondering if he'll just be back in flash backs or something

Nope. The first season tried to stay true to the 1st book, and after that, they did a mix of all various books, and now it's completely different.

I almost have a feeling that they are going to try to pull a Lestat. In one of the books (Interview w/ the Vampire series...I forget which book 3? 4?), Lestat tries to go to the desert and die and he couldn't because he was too old to succumb to the sun (instead, he got a tan). I think they are going to do something similar w/ Erik.
