Bye Bye Biggie! HELP!?!?
My Big (Whom I've only seen once since our Formal, in November) ran into me at Publix the other day and casually notified me that she's gone inactive. Nice of her to let me know!!! So, even though she was hardly around when I was a NM (A serious hurt to my "Getting involved" in my chapter)- now she's gone completely! What can I do?

She was planning to tell you when, exactly??
If there's another older sister in your chapter that you're particularly close to, you may want to ask her to "adopt" you. Or, forget about having a big and just get involved and spend time with all your sisters - even if you don't have a big, you are still all sisters.

I agree with aephi alum.. See if you can find an older sister and see if she will adopt you. An alum in my chapter has 10 littles--most of which were adopted. Everything will work out in the end.

Sounds like one of my active sisters. Keep in mind we only have 35 members.

My Big went alum after the semester I was initiated, so she was only my Big for that one semester. However, there were two of my sisters who always said they'd adopt me, and finally one of them did this past year! So now I have two families in the house...being an adopted little of one family and I just took a little this past spring.
SoExited@FSU~ Don't worry about not having a Big for the time being; I'm sure an older sister would love to adopt you into her family.

I've seen similar situations happen in our chapter. I agree. Try to find a sister to adopt you. Also consider starting a new branch to the family! Once you get a little (if you don't have one already) you can start your own traditions.

Hi There,
I strongly encourage you to choose a little when you can. Just think of all the traditions you can start as a "new" family. Plus you know how you were treated and will learn from that and treat her the way she should be.
As a founding sister we didn't have big/littles but twins. a couple months before initiation 3 of us lost our twins due to family pressure (families didn't want them in sororities). We talked and decided to adopt each other. I am so glad we did. One of the women has become my best friend and I was honored to be asked to be her witness at her wedding in December.
Just like a real family, we may not like them so we can always "adopt" a new family.
Good luck,
