It sounds as though you can cover the majority of your tattoos by wearing conservative clothing and jewelry. I wouldn't worry about it being dishonest. If they don't want you showing those tattoos at official events, you can wear conservative clothing and jewelry. The bigger question is whether you feel comfortable covering up parts of yourself to conform to a group. If that doesn't bother you, then easy fix.
