LSU does not have an upperclass quota, so going through as a junior will be more difficult, IMO.

Remember that Alpha Phi will be colonizing this fall. Usually colonies are looking for freshmen plus upperclass women who can assume leadership positions. Your grades sound like they will be a plus for you so study hard and keep that GPA high!

Just keep all options open. I wish you good luck!

Ok, so I saw the information about Alpha Phi colonizing on the lsugreeks website, but wasn't sure if I still have to go through formal recruitment. From everything I've read, sororities that are colonizing usually pull out of formal recruitment after the first day and then hold meetings a few weeks into the semester. If this is the case, should I not sign up for formal recruitment and just wait until they start holding meetings?

You can put all of your eggs in one basket and just sign up for Alpha Phi's colonization. You are not required to sign up for formal recruitment to be elegible for a colony.

In my experience, many PNMs start formal recruitment to meet lots of women and see all of the sororities and what they have to offer. If, after starting the process, they are not happy with their choices or are released, they pursue membership with the incoming colony.

Alpha Phi has been very successful with their colonizations at Alabama and Florida State. I would anticipate that this will be the same at LSU.

I think Alpha Phi will do very good. I can not honestly tell you how they will go about recruiting for the colony. As i said my daughter time in the sorority is coming to an end. She will be moving on the alum status in a few weeks so she hasn't paid much attention to what is happening!!!
I would go ahead and try it, it can't jurt and you never know.
