So I was reading something about a second shooting that just happened in CO and somebody posted this as their anti-gun control argument

Resisting Tyranny
Guns help citizens resist tyranny and the abuse of power, and the Constitution guarantees that right. However, the political Left wants nothing more than to take all guns from the people. A populace without guns can easily fall prey to oppressive governments. These governments are then free to do whatever they want, including murder their citizens.

The current claim is that only so-called "assault weapons" need to be outlawed. Realistically, these theoretical "assault weapons" aren’t even equal to what the military carries. They cannot shoot in fully automatic mode like the military rifles can. They provide the absolute minimum level of firearm that one might need to resist an oppressive and tyrannical government.

The role of government is to protect its citizens. If needed, you can call the police against a gang member. Who do you call if you are being attacked by the government? While this may not be necessary today, this is exactly the protection that the framers of the Constitution wanted to provide to the citizens of this country.
