I'm a little late to the party (and I've been absent on these boards for awhile) but I just wanted to say good luck to brighteyedgirl! I can't believe this is my first year NOT participating in IU recruitment! If you have any questions about the process, feel free to PM me. I was a Rho Gamma and recruitment chair for my chapter so I have a lot of insight into the logistics.

As for the paper copies, I think it is just as GeorgiaGreek said. I know when I was a Rho Gamma we had to have THREE paper copies of the PNMs preference lists for each round (one for me, PHA, and the PNM) and also input them into the computer system. When in doubt, CYA.

ForeverRoses--brown boots over jeans is the trend for chapters or PNMs?

I thought boots over jeans was a pretty classic look? I never considered it a trend waiting to die. Now cowboy boots, those can die unless you are actually on a ranch/riding a horse/in Texas/all of the above.

"In Tennessee" should also be added to that list

I agree with my sister. Boots over jeans have always been the norm in some way in areas where it's cold 5-7 months out of the year. We've had accumulated snows over a foot as early as October and as late as May, so, yeah, boots - of all different styles - are part of most women's wardrobes - from toddlers to senior citizens.

Styles of boots may change, but the act of wearing them? Never. And given that most boots are brown or black, usually made of leather/suede/animal skin of some sort. Lastly, anything more than a few inches of snow can ruin your hems with salt and sand, and making them soggy.

So I can't see any combination of color/fabric/length ever going completely away. Honestly, being safe on my feet, having breathable but warm fabric, and keeping my clothes from being ruined is much more important than if something is trended out half a season ago.

Hi guys!!

30 or so minutes until I meet with my Rho Gamma!! I didn't get a call last night so, PHEW.

I'm so nervous but I did my hair, brushed my teeth, and I'm trying to swallow down some breakfast. Today's going to be a long day! 9am to 9:50pm (if you have all 8 houses). But even if you don't, it'll be equally exhausting.

Okay, as you can tell I'm super nervous. Thanks for all the good wishes...they've been working so far!

Best wishes BEG! This is bringing back memories of my daughter's recruitment. High highs, lows lows but eyes on the prize and an open mind and it can all work out in the end! Really enjoying your story and the memories! Open mind is the key-keep it coming!

That's the point. Many of the boots we are talking about keep you anything but warm or "safe on your feet."

This was pretty standard for the PNMs. I didn't see what other houses were wearing, so I don't know if any of them were doing this as well. But I would say 1/3-1/2 of all the PNMs I saw were sporting this look. Saw lots of Toms shoes as well.
