A friend of mine from home told me today that her daughter has been diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease. Kristin is a beautiful young woman of 18, just started college, and has been going through tests for the past months.
Could I ask that people keep Kristin in their thoughts & prayers? She has a lovely attitude about this, but of course, is scared. Just remember how you would have taken this news at 18!

So I'm 27...and I'm having a colonoscopy tomorrow. I'm really just trying to be proactive...I saw what could be considered a symptom of colon cancer back in October, but ever since I made the initial appt with the doctor, I haven't seen it since. After what has gone on with my mom this year with her colon cancer...I'm really just trying to make sure it isn't that! I'm feeling pretty good that there won't be anything to worry about tomorrow...but hey, positive thoughts and prayers couldn't hurt!

So smart by not taking any risks considering your family history! Thinking good thoughts, I'm sure it will be fine!

Hope it went well! I've been begging my DH to get one - literally everyone in his immediate family has had colon cancer or pre-cancerous polyps. I told him that I will be furious with his making me move to Chicago, just so he can die of something about which he should have been more proactive. It scares me!

It did go well! Fortunately, they didn't find anything except some miniscule hemorrhoids, which was most likely causing what I saw that prompted this all back in October. The prep is the worst!! But overall, I'm glad I went and got it done. I greatly encourage EVERYONE, especially if they have family history or of general age (right now 50...however the colon cancer alliance is working on changing that to 30) to get one done!

Ok, so my boss has given me the go ahead to transfer my job to the Raleigh office, depending on if there is space for me. They said they would call them this week, and I haven't heard anything yet...which is making me nervous! It would make it soooo much easier for my husband and I when we move back to NC if I had a job as well!! Just keeping my fingers crossed...but positive thoughts would be nice!
