It doesn't hurt any more, but I do have to go four months with only soft foods. My blender & Slim Fast are my best friends!

I have a large favor to ask: I am extremely organized in parts of my life, not so great in other. I was sure that I had left someone's application for DAR at work, to copy it there. I cannot find it. I would be so grateful if y'all would pray that I find it quickly, so I can get it in the mail. This woman is one of those "call me every day until I can say it's in the mail" people, and I have too much going on without the added stress! Thank you so much!

Could really use some good thoughts as I'm being dumped on right now.

Sisters, please keep all of our ADPi and Greek families who are affected by Hurricane Sandy in prayer or at least good thoughts.

I just heard from someone near my vacant & uninsured house - they've had constant wet snow for the past three hours, and have their generator primed. Yes, I am nervous!

I've had a really bad cough for about three weeks now. It started after a bad cold, but it won't go away. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow - hoping it's nothing serious!!

So, I know that I'm not a member of any sorority, but I noticed this thread on the homepage and have a prayer request that I was hoping y'all could keep in mind.

A close family friend of mine was shot this weekend in the head. By miracle, he is fully cognizant and doing well, but it has taken a toll on his wife and kids (one of his kids being a close childhood friend of mine). He is still suffering from some brain swelling, among other issues. If y'all could lift up both him and his family, I'd really appreciate. Prayer can do extraordinary things. Thank you!

Praying that 2 dear, sweet friends who reconnected on facebook after 42 years can one day be together. They have loved each other all this time but let pride and stubbornness tear them apart during the Viet Nam war. Thanks, prayer warriors!

Blessings on all of these! May my sister adpimiz's health improve without having anything serious happen. May the wounded man continue to improve and let his brain be left normal, if not better, and may his family's worries be in Your heavenly hands. And may the friendship that bloomed in Viet Nam be restored. Viet Nam did enough to the people of our country, let the troubles be over and healing continue.

We humbly ask for all of this, on this eve of thanksgiving.

I have a request now. The daughter of a friend of mine, Kristin, is 18, just started college, and was just diagnosed as having Hodgkin's Disease. She's taking this very maturely, but obviously, everyone is devastated. She starts chemo on Monday (December 3). Would you please keep Kristin and her family in prayer? Thanks so much!

Praying.

I just took my Tri-Delta friend to the airport; she's going home to be with her mother who is in hospice. She is given weeks to live. Prayers appreciated

Keeping her in my prayers! How tragic.

Prayers coming your way, too, SWTXBelle.

I don't know if you want to hear a blow by blow report, but Kristin won't start chemo until next Friday, December 7th. Today a port was put in her chest to make it easier to receive it, then she had other tests.

Sadly, she's also a sometimes binge eater (but not purger, which surprises me), and since she's not permitted to do her usual workout, her parents are afraid that she'll be binging more often.

1st, y'all are on the prayer list.
2nd: I'm not sure how familiar you are with chemo. It tends to create severe nausea and zaps energy. Even with the anti-nausea medication, people often aren't able to keep much food down. It's possible she won't be interested in binge-ing (binging doesn't look right). Chemo is so rough on families, sometimes I feel like if it harder than the cancer. With cancer, people can look completely healthy, but with chemo there is a definite change in appearance.
