But if your name is Brittany Jones (or whatever the uber-common name would be in your area), maybe the better choice is to have a carefully cleaned but fully available social media presence. If those in search had found more than one Brittany Jones, maybe they would have been more careful in their judgement. An available page that said "happy rush week everyone! I'm officially going quiet here until rush is over. Wish me luck!" and then actually not saying anything else might have made clear this girl wasn't the snotty one.

Agree...I do check Facebook profiles, and it's very helpful to have a picture, high school, home town, to make sure I'm looking at the right person. Clean it up, make it nice. Of course we love it when a PNM's page is wide open, but I'm usually just looking for a picture.
