Go hawks!
Hey, we had a Superbowl stolen from us on a blown call. There were plenty of blown calls in this game, and if the situation was reversed and we had lost in Green Bay on the same call, I have a feeling ESPN and the interwebz would be all like, "What a decisive victory for Green Bay! They're unstoppable!" I'm going to be happy about this one call that finally went in a Seattle team's favor. We NEVER get the breaks - we just get screwed. And I'm tired of hearing the "legacy" teams and their fans whine only when they lose a call.

We only whine when we lose a call because we don't lose games
You know that if the roles were reversed they'd still be saying this was the worst call in football. Everyone recognizes that the officials don't know what they're doing.. it doesn't matter what teams are playing.
This is getting downright ridiculous and dangerous for the players.

I might not be as livid, but I would still be upset. I know when we get lucky on a bad call (Wisconsin v. Michigan State in last year's Big 10 Championship) and it's not a good feeling. And that call was nothing compared to this entire game.
Seattle also got screwed on several calls. One of the commentators mentioned it was like ping pong: forward 10 yards and back 15. The Packers just got more screwed because of the placement of those awful, awful calls: that pass interference call in the fourth quarter that took away an interception, the interception in the end zone, and that shove Tate gave Shields....
The refs are terrible and this has got to be fixed. The games on Sunday were bad enough: yesterday was just laughable. I won't watch another NFL game until it's fixed (and I'm not just being a Pouty Packer while saying that). Football is supposed to be fun, and I couldn't even enjoy any of the games this weekend. They stop every two seconds and you can't even appreciate the plays.
/side note. Take good care of Russell! He is an amazing player and the nicest person you will ever meet. I miss having him play for us.

I hate Green Bay. That was a terrible call.

I was so frustrated by the bad calls this weekend. I am seriously thinking of not watching NFL games until the refs are back to work.
What really amazed me is that call was upheld after review!

My husband said they were afraid they'd be killed by the mob.

By rule, the only element subject to review was whether it was a catch or not. The judgement of the call (reception/interception) was not subject to review.
I also think the call was wrong, but this is not the officials' fault. This belongs to the league office, who locked out the league officials and had some prior arrangement ensuring that the "replacements" could not come from the next level down --major college conferences like the Big 10 and SEC.
I'd think last night's fiasco, and a few calls from the earlier two weeks, have strengthened the bargaining position of the regular officials.
The crews on the games are doing the best they can, but they appear to be out of their depth.

Div I refs are in the same union as the NFL refs, that's why they can't use them.
