Because of your age, I wonder if you should try to separate your education from your social life. Maybe looking at Junior League, Rotary, Exchange Club, etc. might be a better choice for you. Groups like Rotary and Exchange are clamoring for young members so you would suddenly be desired for the (probable) reason why you were not wanted in college groups. These groups are also EXCELLENT for networking and as you continue your education and look for a new job, this will give you a distinct leg up in the actual corporate world.

Don't let it get you down, but now is probably the time to start thinking about directing your energies toward groups who will appreciate your greatness.

This is a great suggestion. I have also met a lot of people working on arts boards and/or their junior auxiliaries.

You might also consider AAUW, which has promoted education and leadership for women since 1881. Undergraduates can join as student members.
