It's a bummer to think that I can't go visit, but on the other hand, it's not like I ever go visit. I worry that we'll have a hard time finding something if/when we are invited back, but I'm sure one fraternity or another will get kicked off campus in time. It seems that Illinois loses at least one/year.
ZBT built a brand new house either my senior year or right after I left. I can't remember exactly, but they had pretty much trashed their old one, to the point where it was deemed unlivable by the city. I hope they are taking better care of the new place, because their alumni put up a ton of dough.
Delta Phi had about 8 guys when I was there, so much so that it was a running joke in my chapter to see who could make out with one, but I think I recall them having a sizable house.
So where is SAE? And who is living in the white house? And Theta Chi was in the ZTA house...who is there now? Way over near FAR/PAR/ATO.

LOL about Delta Phi. Very true about the size though, my best friend knew a guy there and they had only 5 dudes living in that big house one semester!
SAE is in the house they own, corner of Third and Daniel. Acacia was there when I was in school, but I don't know who was there right before. The white house is no more! There are apartments there now. And Theta Chi was living in a house owned by ZTA? I didn't know that! Although ZTA still owning their house does ring a bell. I don't know who is in it now, now that Theta Chi is in the TKE house.

Sadly the ZTA house is very empty right now. It is beautiful but it is obvious that no one is living there now -- overgrown with weeds, a couple of boarded-up windows, etc. Sad, my mom and some of her friends are UIUC alumnae and they remember it being such an impressive house!

Were they one of the presenters when the CPH expanded in 2008? It's hard to believe that owning a house on campus wouldn't have been a very persuasive factor. They'd been gone more than ten years at that point, AFAIK, so I wonder if they are still hoping to return in the future.

Interesting. I wonder why ZTA wouldn't have gone after that pretty aggressively.

By the way, if anybody's hoping for a U of I recruitment story, I'll have one in a few weeks -- my sister is a freshman there this year!

My sister is so excited about recruitment! She went to an ice cream social for PNMs tonight and got to meet a couple of members of many of the chapters. She was very impressed and can't wait for recruitment to start.

It's going to rain this weekend. A lot. We're getting the remnants of Hurricane Ike tonight, all day Saturday, and maybe into Sunday night.
I hope the PNMs brought umbrellas and rain ponchos.

Has anyone heard how many PNMs there are this year? My daughter's best friend and another good friend will be going through, so I'll be watching the threads

Totally meant to add that in. My brother forwarded me an emergency alert email from the school alerting up to 10 inches of rain this weekend! Hope it's not as bad as they are predicting!!
