If I'm amongst my family, my accent from Havana,Florida will come out in a heart beat. I moved to Detroit at the age of 9, and my classmates use to tease me something awful about my accent. After living in Detroit, whenever I went back to Florida to visit family, they would say that now I talk "proper." I couldn't win for losing. It's also one of the reasons why my I chose English as my major in college.
