I am a lifeguard and no matter HOW much sunscreen I use, I am (literally) blistering red within the first four days of the summer. I always take lots of advil, because not only does it stop the pain considerably, but it also stops some o f the swelling (at least, my skin always swells when it burns). Keep your skin CONSTANTLY hydrated. Aloe Vera from the fridge is GREAT, but really, any lotion from the fridge will really help out a lot, but now they have something even BETTER out there on the market, and I just tried it a month ago, so I know it works. It is an aloe vera gel that has a pain killer in it (topical, i guess). It numbs the pain of the burn, while still providing all of the cooling and soothing of aloe gel! you can get it at any drugstore or walmart, and i think it is usually blue in color.

Sorry, I dont know about the tanlines though, but I sure could use some suggestions, I have HIDEOUS tan lines from my guarding bathing suit (they wont even let us wear those two piece kinds, and they are really strict about pulling our straps down), so, any help in that area would be appreciated!
