BABY NAMES, what are your faves?

dekeguy, lol. I would not be surprised if those were actual baby names somewhere.

We have friends who have a Cadence. She is aka Cady. Meh... not my favorite name.


We absolutely loved the name Ayla/Isla. It sounded horrible with our last name though. Just didn't flow right. If my husband has his way, and we have a 4th who happens to be a boy, he will be Tristan.

Concepción is not that uncommon for those with a Spanish or Tagalog speaking background. Though many of those ladies I know have gone by Connie, Concha, or a middle or Saints name.

I actually know a few girls named Kassi, one of which is my pledge sister. Although, Kassi is their given name. I guess I've never looked at it as an extremely unusual name. And at least it doesn't take a whole lot of brainpower to figure out how to pronounce it, unlike other misspelled names.

I don't think Mackenzie is horrible, but I do understand what you mean about never wanting to name your child that. I also would be quite opposed to the name.

And I would NEVER think of naming my child Cadence. I've never even heard the name before. Not thrilled with it.

Also, I cannot imagine screaming either of those names out the back door.

I had read the bold, and I thought this was heading in a very different direction...

... I thought that, like those people who said they "test" the potential name with "Chief Justice" in front of it, you would test your potential names by imagining someone screaming them in bed.....



And in thinking about this further... I suppose both of these names would fail that test.

LOL! My sister's best friend in HS was Priscilla. Her initials were P.B. does anyone remember those P.B Max candy bars in the early 90's? They had a commercials "PB Max Don't mean..."with lots of things that P.B. didn't stand for like "portly ballerina" and would show a fat girl in a tutu. It was really a peanut butter square covered in chocolate. ANYWAY, we started calling Priscilla, "P.B. Means Prissy B*tch." I don't think she liked it, but we all thought it was HILARIOUS. Ahhhhhhh, memories. She was a prissy b*tch.

I knew I liked you! The daughter I didn't carry to full term was named Priscilla, and I've also liked Camille/Camilla. One of the PNMs for whom I wrote a rec but went ChiO was called Cammy - it seems so friendly, but classic.

The first thing that comes to mind is Queen of the Desert. There's also the possibility of the nickname Prissy, or mean children calling her Pissy.

We had already planned on calling her Cissy as a preemptive strike.

And people who like Max or Maxwell - expect Maxi Pad nicknames.
