- I went to the mall last weekend with a female friend of mine. When we were leaving, a car full of young(younger would probably be more accurate) black guys pulled in front of us BLASTING their music. The problem wasn't the volume(well..not entirely). The problem was that the song they were playing was literally filled with swears. I'm driving behind these kids and every other word is f-this and nigga that. I'm looking left and right at these white/black/asian mothers and fathers looking in disgust/rolling up their windows/peeling in the opposite direction. I was embarassed to be the car behind them. Whenever people looked over they saw both of our cars and I know they lumped me in with whatever preconceived notion they had about those kids.
- I went to a private elementary school and I was one of TWO black kids in the entire school. (Grades 1-8) Why did the one other black kid have to go ahead and start stealing things out of peoples bookbags AND bring a knife to school? Needless to say he was expelled. You can imagine how it must feel to be the only black kid in an all white school in an all white town after the last black kid was kicked out for stealing stuff and bringing a weapon. Not fun.
