I once put this somewhere else on GC but when the Disney Kingdom Keeper books came out, I emailed Ridley Pearson and told him about my horror of Maleficent over the years and asked him why he resurrected her anyway. He wrote something to the effect of, "I have this THING for Maleficent!"
Aggh. I better get used to her being back, it seems. Soon after Sleeping Beauty came out, my mother put these sweeping black curtains in one of the bathrooms and commented, "Hey, they look like Maleficent's robes!" That was it, I was out of there, didn't go back in that bathroom for months.
