If you live in NE Ohio, and you hate Swenson's (burgers, shakes, etc.), you are not a real person.

Featured on ABC's The Chew, Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, and a couple other shows.

If you're in the Raleigh area...the best place for BBQ, is to go to The Pit in downtown Raleigh. The guy who owns it was in a throwdown with Bobby Flay and won! We also had them cater my rehearsal dinner for my wedding!

If you're ever in Nashville and want a really amazing popsicle, head to Las Paletas in the 12South neighborhood.
Two sisters who moved to Nashville from Mexico make both ice cream based and fruit based pops, and they're incredible. I'm an ice cream junkie, and I have only deviated to that side of the menu once - for an avocado pop (amazing).
The plain fruit pops are just that good. My favorites are grapefruit, watermelon or raspberry lime, but I've never had one I didn't love.
And I'll cast my deep dish vote for Lou Malnati's in Chicago, but then, my heart truly belongs to Superdawg.

Chicago
-best pizza to me is Giordano's, but I haven't been in a few years
-best place to eat after you've had a few too many: WEINER CIRCLE!!!
You really also should try Ed Debevic's just for the experience
Bloomington (aka IU)
-best pizza hands down is Mother Bears
-best Thai food I've ever had at Siam House
-also amazing: the fries at Farm, ice cream at Jiffy Treet or Chocolate Moose

I also love the Scholar's Inn Bakehouse in Bloomington for breakfast. The breakfast burrito is enough food to fill me up and get me through pref day. (when there is no time for lunch)
Oh, and HotBox Pizza (or whatever the name is in Bloomington) breadsticks are a must after preference ends. (the former recruitment advisor started the tradition, but I feel I must carry it on...)

Pizza X breadsticks...those are the best. The Little 5 special..$5 for a large drink, 8 breadsticks and two sauces (nacho cheese and pizza are the best).

The original is from Louisville - The Brown Hotel.
In my opinion, the best Hot Browns are from Claudia Sanders' Dinner House - in Shelbyville.

I hear ya on the Graeter's Ice Cream.
IMO, you can't talk about good Cincy food without mentioning the Montgomery Inn. Best BBQ in that part of the country. (Doesn't compare to Carolina BBQ, though.)

In Lexington, KY, the best breadsticks are from Joe Bologna's.

I used to LOVE the nacho cheese and then ran into a bit of a bout of food poisoning with it...now I stick to marinara or ranch!
I'm not sure how I could forget Scholars Inn for breakfast, their stuffed croissants are AMAZING. Also, Samira is the only Afghani restaurant I've ever tried, and I fell in love. Meat on a sword = to die for
