Yeah someone who does not seem very nice certainly does not seem mean just like "semi-casual business attire" is not "business casual." Fun play on words happening.

"Not at all" is a bit of a overstatement. They are at least somewhat related.

Doesn't "not very nice" = mean? Aw, now that I think of it, I guess not. "Mean" is further down the spectrum.
Hope your final goes well. (Which I do think is a nice thing of me to say. In spite of the fact that "we people" are not very nice. Just kind of nice.)

Is this a circular structure, because Unicorns and Rainbows tend to not be far removed from batshit crazy.
