Not a skit, but horrid none the less. Years ago (close to 20), someone higher up in the organization thought it would be a good idea to issue a rush video and instructions. The video was introduced at Convention for all to see. Sounds good so far, right? The video was done by one of our southern chapters who held rush during the winter months. It was thought, at the time, that all of the chapters would incorporate this theme into their rush plans.
The video was a Christmas theme rush party. Complete with velvet dresses. Complete with Christmas songs rewritten for the rush party.
At this time, I was a collegian, and our chapter advisor was Jewish. Strike one. She was horribly offended, and I couldn't blame her.
Kansas has rush in August. Ever been to Kansas in August? Not the time you want to wear a velvet dress. Strike two.

The video was sent out to all of the chapters, but it died a quick death, thankfully.

We did do a Christmas-themed round and it was one of our best rounds. We had a few Jewish women in our chapter and we specifically talked with them about it before making the decision to run with it. I do think I lost a rush crush over it (she was Jewish), but overall the response to the theme was overwhelmingly positive. We didn't wear velvet though.
