LOL. They're just bags and clothes, people.
Last time some angry snitches threatened to boycott Lilly. I'm sure they're scared, LOL.

Unfortunately, the comments following each video announcement of the "print class" are often shockingly rude and un-Panhellenic.

I'm just going to work on not caring one way or the other - the whole "vote" thing strikes me as manipulative and leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth.

Even though it's my job position, I had to reprimand a sister last time for bad mouthing another sorority. Ridiculous.

If it strikes you that way, then you do care. It's a print. I'm excited Phi Mu is one of the winners, but who cares if we didn't win? Like everyone said, eventually everyone is going to get one. Voting just adds a fun aspect to it and apparently GREAT PR for the company. (proven so, we could care less here in Michigan but everyone is posting about it)

Note I said I was going to WORK on not caring. That's because of the bad taste in my mouth. Obviously, I cared enough to vote. But the whole voting charade? I don't like it, and it has turned me off the whole thing. So apparently they lost me, but gained Michigan. I would love to know how the sales track.

There's such a long gap between the voting and the release of the patterns, I'd be curious as well. Not only that, but then there is another big gap between the pattern reveal and the time when there is actually stuff for purchase.

Someone upthread speculated that they try to do a mix of big and small groups each time, to be sure they build buzz, and the more I think about it, the more it seems that may be their strategy.

I totally get where you're coming from. While I love Lilly Pulitzer, I wish they would get ride of this teasing and "voting" nonsense and just go ahead and release the prints. Especially after the last round, when they claimed that the winning groups were the ones who were "loudest and proudest" in proudest. Many current college women feel that sorority=life, and not getting a print can feel like a slap in the face to their sorority.Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for the groups that have won so far as I love seeing new greek prints, but I really wish they would cover just cover the whole NPC already.

Meh. I know and work with Sigma collegians on a daily basis (and have tons of collegiate Sigma friends on FB and twitter) who, not gonna lie, were all OMG LILLY PRINT VOTING, but when we came up without a print (which is no surprise, we're not that big of an org) I didn't see one comment about it. Why? Because I think we know (and I should hope that other sorority collegians know) that they're just bags and clothes. Nothing to be offended over.

And re: people saying they're going to "boycott" Lilly, that's silly.

There's the text of the announcment at

http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/2869...rities-won.htm

(The winners are:
- Alpha Xi Delta
- Alpha Omicron Pi
- Phi Mu
- Sigma Kappa
- Pi Beta Phi)

Zowie, I sure like the "four-year vacation" reference to college. Oh yeah:

"We fully believe that college is your first four-year vacation. And we want you to be wearing Lilly the entire time."

I think the whole voting nonsense will eventually backfire on them. I especially disliked the tease about who was in the lead a few days ago. I think it caused even harder feelings for some. The negative comments this time around seem even more vitriolic than the last time. I wish they'd just announce a schedule and stick to it. As the number of groups gets smaller, it seems pretty ridiculous to continue the charade.

I found this comment to be in extremely poor taste.

I'm a longtime Lilly fan, but I'm also tired of the voting and teasing, and agree that a schedule would be best, perhaps like they did the state quarters. Stuff like this only brings out the worst in people, as evidenced through many of the comments, as the "winners" will cheer and then tell the sororities that didn't get a print that it's not a big deal, and the "losers" will either 1) be openly bitter 2) tell the "winners" it's easy for them to say, because they have the print. While I understand the excitement, I don't think comments like these are great PR for anyone involved.

I think it would be nice if Lilly could create a "Panhellenic" print, maybe with Ivy and green designs, for all sorority women to wear. It's not the same as having your own, of course, but I think it could be great PR for Lilly and allow the sorority members "waiting it out" (since, of course, some collegiate women will take this seriously) to have something.

Now, back to important things, like watching the State of the Union....

I would definitely buy a Panhellenic print! I know they created a limited edition print for the Junior League a few years ago, so it could happen.

I'm just giving you crap. It's funny how the trends change from region to region. I'm sure there will be hype with the Michigan Phi Mus once the pattern is revealed, then it'll die, then again when it's released, and then no one will give a crap. I didn't know who Lilly Pulitzer was until Greekchat!

I can't be alone in thinking that Lilly could interpret Alpha Gam as a Rastafarian chipmunk or double roses with a fern the same color as stop lights. Honestly, I can't envision anything that is going to not make me cringe.

I have the same thought for AOII. Everything we have is red. I'm picturing a fabric that looks like you sopped up blood. Maybe wheat can break up the monotony of red roses and rubies.
