Yeah, I can see how 'underground' can work, but I still have a difficult time thinking that if the school says, "Your fraternity/sorority is now kicked off campus by us, and is not recognized at all, and is completely unaffiliated to us", that they HQ says, "Yeah, alright, but we will still keep them as an active chapter, and count them in our ranks". Most HQ would yank a charter if the Univ. gets rid of the chapter.

Being underground generally means that a chapter has went defunct, and without recognition by the HQ or the Univ., they continue to recruit secretly and pass on the same rituals as they were taught.....but, as I mentioned, that is generally done without the support of the Univ. and HQ.
