Candlelight Ceremony

Hey ladies, my best friend just got lavaliered by her boyfriend and I am planning a candlelight ceremony for her, but I have some questions... how many times does the candle go around, what do we say when it goes around and who blows it out?
thanks,

I'd say give nationals/your regionals a call...I can never remember the exacts. Just that you need a fire extinguisher.

We did once for lavaliered, twice for pinned, three times for engaged (usually people only did it for engagement).

we go once around for friendship just so we can sing the sweetheart song basically, then the next one is lavaliered, (we don't do one for pinned, no one pins on our campus), and then one more for engagement. We sing the sweetheart song the whole time and the one who was lavaliered/pinned/engaged is the one who blows it out. then we stay in the circle and the sister explains how it happened.

hope this helps
PPL & mine.

Yes, Jessipoo is correct. The first passing is for friendship and so that every sister can touch the candle at least once...(this also builds the suspense to find out which sister received the lavelier, pin or engagement ring).

When I was an active we all wished for a candle passing...I've been told that the tradition lives on today at many chapters.
