I know I may get some slack for this, but I hate when churchs pass the collection plate before, during, after, and as your walking out of the sermon. I have no problem with putting money back in the church, but don't try to convince me to give more than I planned. At my cousin's church I have heard them say "Give faithfully and the Lord will provide the rest". I have complete faith in God, as well as complete faith that I am already overdrawn in my checking account.
