Hi Girls! I'm kinda new to GC. I've been around for awhile, but never posted anything, but after the Sorority Life thing on MTV I decided that I would join again and make myself known to everyone. So my name is Jessica
I'm a member at Eastern Michigan University - Zeta Alpha.
I joined AGD because of the girls in my chapter. One of the first people that I met was Leslie. I think a lot of you know her. She was at our Greek forum my freshman year and I was late for class because she wouldn't stop talking to me. She told me later that she knew that I was going to be an AGD.
But my favorite memory would have to be my bid day which was Fall 2000. I'm not sure if Leslie has explained what happens for our bid day, but all the potential new members who have gone through structured get a card welcoming them and giving them a bid. Then everyone goes down to our lakehouse on campus and announces to all the sororities and potential new members what sorority they got a bid to. When you do this all the actives go running towards you with red and buff roses and balloons and hug you to death. That was the point in time that I knew that I had made the right choice in going AGD and have felt at home ever since.
To all my Zeta Alpha's....THANKS FOR ONE OF MY FAVORITE MEMORIES EVER!!!

First Name: Crystal
College/University and Chapter:University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown; Zeta Kappa
Collegian or Alumnae: Alumnae right now because I transfered to a different school but I just reapplied to UPJ (waiting to hear back)... so hopefully an active member again soon!
Why you joined Alpha Gam and/or your fave memory of AGD: I joined because AGD was the sorority that captured my heart. The sisters were all great and there is such a variety of personalities that I knew I'd fit in best with AGD; As for my favorite memory... wow, there are lots, including, formal, living in the house, pledging had TONS of memories in itself. There are so many more memories and so many more to come that I really cannot pick just one.

Hi everyone!! I'm new here at GreekChat, and I can't wait to meet new sisters!!!
Name: Joycelyn, J-Lo (my sisters gave me that nickname!!)
University/Chapter: University of South Alabama, Theta Epsilon Chapter
Initiation: October 2001
Why I Joined Alpha Gam: Going through rush, I just felt that Alpha Gam was where I was really comfortable at. They had made me feel really welcome, and being away from home, their sisterhood was what I really needed to adjust to my first year in college. Being an only child, Alpha Gam has taught me about sisterhood. Knowing that I am a part of something really makes me happy.
Quote:
They are the family we choose to surround us, sister bound by love instead of blood. They know when we are lonely, and appear without being called. When we feel lost, they provide a living map to what comes next. When we doubt everything about ourselves, they remind us who we are.
